A new rule lands on Friday. By Monday your CEO asks one question: what does this mean for us?

Who wins, who pays, and what the regulator is really trying to fix.

Not a news feed. A weekly briefing.

Most weeks produce dozens of announcements. JFI picks the handful with real consequences and skips the rest.

What we follow: OJK and Bank Indonesia, payments and QRIS, SNAP and BI-FAST, digital lending, digital identity and e-KYC, data protection, AI in financial services, licensing and enforcement.

  • The stories that matterNew rules, enforcement, licensing, payment infrastructure, major deals and failures.
  • What the sources sayEvery story links back to the regulation, official announcement or disclosure it rests on, not recycled headlines.
  • Fact, then analysisWhat is confirmed is kept separate from interpretation, so you know what you can quote.
  • What to watchThe deadlines, follow-up rules and market moves likely to come next.

Regulation looks different when you've worked on both sides of it.

Founder and Editor, Jakarta Fintech Insider

I've spent more than a decade across government, fintech and policy research.

At Indonesia's National Council for Financial Inclusion Secretariat, I led the national e-KYC initiative, working with Bank Indonesia, OJK and the relevant ministries on secure digital onboarding. I later served as Head of Public Policy and Government Relations at VIDA, working with regulators and industry associations on digital identity, digital trust and cybersecurity.

At LinkAja, I led government initiatives connecting digital financial services with public programs such as Prakerja and social assistance.

Today I lead INA/LAB, a think tank on digital public infrastructure, and serve as Business and Technology Director at LabMU. My consulting work has included research on Indonesia's digital economy and regulation for organizations such as the World Bank. I hold an MSc in Banking and Finance, with Distinction, from the University of Nottingham.

I started JFI to put those perspectives in one place: how a rule gets written, how businesses respond, and what happens when policy meets implementation.
